Tax Collectors Excel Workshop / January 29 & 30, 2025 / Virtual

This course will be delivered virtually in two 3-hour sessions:
The first will be January 29 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
The second session is January 30 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

For municipal tax collectors, mastering Microsoft Excel is crucial for efficiently managing and organizing financial data. The PA Training Hub offers a comprehensive 6-hour workshop tailored specifically for tax collectors. This workshop aims to enhance tax collectors’ organizational skills and proficiency by helping them better understand data, reduce errors, and provide requested information to taxing authorities in a professional format with ease and minimal frustration. Participants will learn how to make Excel work for them, from the basics of Excel to data manipulation with an added plus – completion of the monthly DCED report for Tax Collectors.

Before registering for this course participants need to have a working knowledge of Excel.

• Create, open and save a workbook from scratch
• Add data
• Modify Columns, rows, and cells
• Format data
• Auto Sum, Count, and Subtotal formulas
• Creating mathematical calculation cells
• Fill pre-created forms and troubleshoot broken formulas
• Open data set from source data and manipulate sheet

Course Objectives:

After completion of this workshop, you can expect to be able to:

• Creating, Opening, and Saving Workbooks: Start new workbooks, open existing ones, and save your work efficiently
• Adding Data: Input data accurately into Excel spreadsheets
• Modifying Columns, Rows, and Cells: Modify columns, rows, and cells
• Data Usage:  Manipulate data from a data source and pre-formatted Excel forms like the monthly DCED report for Tax Collectors.
